I'm 19 and currently work at an assisted living center as a waitress while saving up money for college. I was born into a vegetarian household with loving caring parents. My mother who loves to read, cares deeply about health and nutrition. Naturally she passed on that passion to me. I was about 15 when I found out about the raw food diet when I picked up the Boutenko's first book. My first impression was that they were nuts! It wasn't until I flipped through many more raw food books from the library that my interest took flight. We bought a dehydrator, food processor and started collecting raw recipes. Then my thoughts on raw food came to a screeching halt. I thought I could continue to consume my cheese sandwiches, Boca burgers, cake and still be healthy. Raw foods had been out of my mind for years until recently. I was feeling crappy and I was sick of being sick. So, I did it, April 15 2009 I went raw. Its been 4 months so far and I feel pretty good.
